One of the biggest festivals of the world brings some big stories to international media houses. Here is one from the superpower of the world; from USA with love. It's about National Christmas Tree, which lights up Washington every year in early December. The tradition of lighting national Christmas tree, which is 26.5 feet tall, has been observed by USA for the last 88 years; first it was lit by President Roosevelt in 1923.

Every year hundreds of citizens attend this ceremony on the ellipse near White House. After the ceremony, people exchange Christmas tree hamper and then go home filling their hearts with warmth of Christmas celebrations. While citizens are busy in Christmas tree lighting celebrations, Secret Service agents keep a tight vigil to prevent any dreadful event.
Huge screens were set so that people could watch the live coverage of the entire event of Christmas tree lighting. This year, President Obama, his wife, Michelle and his daughters Sasha and Malia greeted the crowd at this annual lighting. Obama conveyed that, "We all know that this tradition is larger than any single tree. We gather here not simply to light decorations but to honor a story that lights the world." Michelle Obama hugged a group of kids after this Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
