With advent of Christianity, more legends came to be associated with Valentines Day history. Among these, the most popular today is of priest Valentine. Valentine's Day history states that Roman Emperor Claudius banned marriages, to have a dedicated bachelors' army. Valentine defied him and secretly married several couples. Enraged, Claudius executed Valentine on 14th February.
